I can say that I've had a great life, but I've also had challenges. I've always been one who wants to share the great things I find with others. Those who know, know that I am not out to bring the spotlight on me. In and of myself, I am a non-descript older man who has never been mistaken for a hunk, nor am I a mental giant. I am not particularly glib, nor do I have the gift of gab. I am every man. As we all go through life, we each encounter people, places, and events which are special. Some even change us for the rest of our lives and beyond. In my life, I have several such events.
First and foremost, I have been a born-again Christian for 30+ ani;
I have been married to my wonderful bride, Kim, for 20+ ani;
I suffer from Cauda Equina Syndrome (CES), but through God's providence, have recovered exceptionally well. I am restricted in some areas, but I do work full time, in the field in which I've spent the prior 15+ ani.
It is about the latter one this blog is focused on. My journey into this relatively unknown condition has been something akin to a corn maze... at night... with no flashlight (or other personal light)... with a new moon. Yeah, confusing, bewildering, scary, wandering around with little direction since the medical community knew little about CES at the time I was introduced to it. I've since found that other diseases and conditions are likewise obscure and information is scarce. So I'm going to talk about my journey in hopes that it will help others who, unfortunately, follow the same path.
May you draw strength and inspiration as well as avoiding the pitfalls into which I fell. Se bucura!
